Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 Sep

Since every lady I know is getting all psyched up to bake cookies for Hari Raya, I shall contribute some of my recipes for you to try as well. I got this off a Malaysian recipe book and I swear it’s really good. It may not work the first time (cookies spreading wild) but with practise, you’ll be whipping up a storm in no time.

The only thing I wish to highlight is to leave your batter/dough in the fridge for about an hour or till it hardens. It’d be much easier when you scoop a teaspoonful onto your baking tray. Here’s the recipe for Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies and these are very addictive indeed. Once you pop, you really can’t stop 😉

Ingredients

(A)

  • 150gm sugar
  • 150gm brown sugar
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • 250 gm butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon liquid glucose

(B)

  • 2 eggs (small)
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla essence

(C)

  • 300 gm flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder

(D)

  • 150 gm chopped pecans
  • 150 gm chocolate chips

Directions

Cream (A) lightly. Then add in (B) and cream till smooth. Add in the sieved (C) and mix till well blended. Lastly add in (D) and mix till well incorporated. Drop a teaspoonful of the dough into the greased baking pan. Bake at 170 degrees Celsius for 15 – 18 minutes.
